Scotland voted NO to independence from United Kingdom by a few - TopicsExpress

Scotland voted NO to independence from United Kingdom by a few percentage point margin. It seems The Scots voted considering pragmatic economic realities than romantic nationalistic aspirations. But one should appreciate the maturity and honesty of Britains democratic process to give space and due diligence for Scottish nationalist aspirations and respecting the will of the people for political self determination. Congratulations to democracy in United Kingdom. Kudos to the bravery of Scots who voted YES. Bowing in respect of the peoples verdict of NO in Scotland. But, Does India have the guts and maturity of political process to respect the will of the people of Kashmir And allow a honest referendum or plebiscite to determine the right to nationhood of people of Kashmir? Home ministry mandarins, military commanders, corrupt parliamentarians, Hindu extreme right organisations, flag bearers of false jingoistic patriotism, Hindutva venom spewing intelligentsia, Corporate manipulated anti people media will decide the aspirations of people of Kashmir And not Kashmiris themselves. And you call it here as democracy? Can you let the people of Kashmir decide? Once again, My respect and esteem For the Brits and Scots grows... My heart goes for Basque nationalists in Spain, Kurd fighters of Iraq and Turkey, Freedom fighters of Tamil Eezham and Palestine... Hope and wish to see The oppressed aspirations of ethnic nationalities around the world achieve freedom and emancipation during my life time. Man is born free and everywhere he is in chains- One wise man said. The chains are meant to be broken.
