Scotland’s worst nightmare is about to become reality The bells they toll throughout the land and the air it is filled with grief, People standing around, just staring at the ground, in a state of bewilderment and disbelief. Like me many cry as hopes they were high, that this day would be our fresh new start But alas we have lost, now we must pay the cost, my mother Scotland they naysayer’s have broken my heart. They will rue the day, that they gave that chance away, to let Scotland stand on her own. And as the years pass them by, they will wonder why, our countries powers were overthrown. Aye Wasteminster was shrewd, first they will shut down Holyrood so we no longer would have a voice, Our country stripped bare and as for us Scots they don’t care, but their glad that you made the wrong choice. So now how do you feel and how can you conceal, that you were taken in by their lies, No use feeling sorry for yourself, when they’ve taken our countries wealth, surely that didn’t come as a surprise. You believed the promises they made, if in the union we stayed, that some things we would keep under control. So you chose not to be free, as there wasn’t a plan “B” and for that, you had sold out your soul. ©harlie McAulay Robertson.
