Scott Klusendorf Theres a post circulating that reads something like this: If you want to put Christ back in Christmas, feed the hungry, care for the poor, love your enemy, provide help to the widow, etc. Those are excellent suggestions, but they are not distinctly Christian and do not put Christ back into Christmas. Indeed, many of my atheist friends do some or all of them! What makes the Christmas celebration distinctly Christian is the proclamation that while we were yet in ruin from rebellion against our Maker, God sent forth his Son to bear in full the judgment we deserve. Moreover, for those who trust in the Sons sacrifice, God the Father is no longer their judge: Hes their Dad and He adopts them into His Family as dearly loved children.
