Scott deMahy, one of the area’s top physical therapists, is now offering patients a choice in physical therapy in Gulf Breeze. He opened PT Solutions, a private practice physical therapy clinic, in Pensacola in 2012 and expanded to Gulf Breeze earlier this year. deMahy has over 17 years experience in providing high quality physical therapy, 16 of those years in the Gulf Breeze/Pensacola area, and was most recently the Corporate Director of Rehabilitation for Baptist Health Care/Andrews Institute Rehabilitation. deMahy’s long time career goal has been to have his own private practice. In 2012 he partnered with PT Solutions to accomplish that goal. “Our clinics are set up to treat patients in a comfortable, intimate setting that may also provide patients with a more affordable option,” deMahy said. “We strongly believe in having a hands-on approach with an individualized treatment plan.” Originally from Louisiana, Scott earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and physical therapy degree from Hogeschool Enschede in the Netherlands. Scott has an extensive background in orthopedics, sports medicine, and manual therapy. He is a speaker for sports medicine conferences and physical therapy continuing education courses. Scott was recently published in the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research. “It has been a professional goal of mine to have my own private practice since I was in physical therapy school,” deMahy said. His first clinic was established on off of Airport Blvd. in Pensacola. He has professional relationships with all most local physicians and surgeons and can work with them to implement the therapy plan for each individual. Whether or not surgery is performed, patients can select the physical therapist that best suits their individual needs. deMahy’s PT Solutions provides a professional and yet family friendly environment for each of the physical therapists on his staff because he wants them to thrive along with the patients they are helping to rehabilitate. Patients at PT Solutions often comment on the comfortable setting in the Tiger Point area and the attention to individualized care they receive. The street level clinic is easy for patients to access from the parking lot. “He’s the one you come to for problem cases,” attests Dana Hamilton of Gulf Breeze. A fitness enthusiast, Hamilton had a significant rotator cuff tear and bone spurs. Surgery was successful but a series of occurrences left her with a frozen shoulder. “Miss perfect fell to the floor and crashed,” she said. “I did a lot of research and found out Scott had a lot of success with frozen shoulder. I sought him out and he’s saved my shoulder.” Since relocating to the Pensacola area in 1997, Scott has developed strong ties in the community and a continued presence in the Physical Therapy profession. Scott and his wife of 23 years, Dusti, have 4 children. Scott enjoys spending time with family and friends, numerous sporting activities, and the beach.
