Scottish off-shore oil and gas industry was given another boost - TopicsExpress

Scottish off-shore oil and gas industry was given another boost when Total, the French energy company, has announced that it is to invest £340m in the further development of its Edradour gas field due west of Shetland. Patrice de Vivies, head of the company’s north European exploration and production, said: ‘ With the upcoming start-up of Laggan-Tormore, the sanction of Edradour and the entry into Glenlivet, Total is establishing a new strategic hub.....’ This does not seem to fit in with the Unionists warnings of this industry being near to its productive end. Wonder who is right, the investing companies or the Unionists?
