Scrambling for the door, Marcus slips and falls, skidding across the floor before coming to a stop against the wall. He knew how it would end, there was no denying it any longer. Never the less he picked himself up and burst through the backdoor. Horrid shrieks spilled out of the house as he ran down the hill toward the street. He was suddenly seized by the legs and tossed back towards the house. With a loud thud he hit the ground rolling on his back. Wincing in pain he attempted to pull himself up against the bannister of the house. The creature spat out a low growl that sent Marcus into a panic. Before he could manage to move a foot the creature grabbed him with one its long tentacles and squeezed tightly around him. A sick mass of long snake like tentacles and an odd mercury-like sludge in which a terrifying maw slowly emerged, the creature was something straight out of the worst nightmares of man. At that exact moment Marcus regretted just about every decision he had made up until this point, the old Colderan Manor, joining the Miskatonic University and the box. That god damned, accursed box. Who could ever know what vile, deathly evil would poor from such a small container. It mattered not now. The city of Arkham could not possibly be prepared for what horrors would set up it this night. Marcus had failed and the consequences would be grave indeed. With a violent squeeze, Marcus let out a slight squeeze and a crack before slumping over, lifeless. The creature devoured his body leaving nothing behind. It slowly snaked its way back around the house and into the ocean below. The sun retreated below the horizon, casting light on a distant object for a brief moment. Half submerged in the dark blue water, a large pair of wings sprawled from below. A very deep and chilling bellow could faintly be heard along with the screeching of Nightgaunts overhead. The stars have aligned and his long slumber is over.
