Screaming racism is usually the first form of breaking civil discourse because it forces the receiver to prove something that isnt readily disproved. It shuts the whole conversation down and focuses on something that may have nothing to do with the topic. Put yourself in a room full of people you dont know and picture yourself persuading someone to your opinion whether its politics world affairs or religion. Now someone screams its because youre a racist, you hate our people, youre just trying to hold us down. You look around in surprise, wondering why someone would say something so absurd, but then you realize that everyone is waiting for you to reply. You think well my best friends are all of different ethnic backgrounds, but then realize no one around you knows that so of course on everyones mind is a tiny notion that maybe you are racist. The conversation is poisoned with ease because doubt was implanted in everyones mind. As long as they know race will divide, we can never really go anywhere. Racism is the lowest, most crudely primitive form of collectivism. It is the notion of ascribing moral, social or political significance to a man’s genetic lineage—the notion that a man’s intellectual and characterological traits are produced and transmitted by his internal body chemistry. Which means, in practice, that a man is to be judged, not by his own character and actions, but by the characters and actions of a collective of ancestors. The next time you hear someone accuse another person of racism question the accusers goal/agenda.
