Screen Test will be in Hardisty on July 10 -12, at the Hardisty Health Centre. Women can call 1-800-667-0604 to book a screening mammogram. As part of Alberta Health Services, our program provides free screening mammography to women 50 and over, and women 40-49 with a referral for their first mammogram. Our mission is to provide screening mammograms to women all across Alberta who might not otherwise have access to one. As you may know, breast cancer will affect 1 out of every 9 women in Alberta, but the good news is that the earlier these cancers are found, the better the chances of full recovery. The majority of women diagnosed with breast cancer (over 70%) will be between 50-69 years old. Screening mammograms can detect a cancer 2-3 years before it can be felt, and this is why it’s so important for women 50-69 to have regular mammograms. So if you could spread the word to women in Hardisty and the surrounding communities that we will be in the area, it would be greatly appreciated! I have attached a poster with our info, feel free to send it to other people or organizations in your community or put it up in your office. We are trying to reach as many women as possible, so the more people that get the message the better.
