Ae o lea: You put on an event and invited the public to come pay at the venue, aired it live on TV, and even streamed it on-line. You asked us to watch young Samoan girls vie for the title of Miss American Samoa who also carries an unofficial title of Ambassador of the Territory. You cannot ask us to watch and not expect we are going to have an opinion. I told someone that this is like asking someone to taste your salty cooking and then get mad at us for spitting it out. None of us who answered your invitation turned on our TVs hoping to watch an event that was going to have that many miscues. I think we can all agree that this years pageant was no where near stellar and I know that this is something that you all know as well. Rather than call me ungrateful or even challenge me to put on something better, how about first owning up to the fact that the show was bad? Not once did I see a post or read an inbox message that apologized for the shortcomings of an event that was made public and invited the masses to enjoy. As for the comments regarding the attire and answers, maybe the comments by some were harsh, but I wont apologize for other peoples views because you expose yourself to that type of criticism when you put on such an event and when you decide to run for a title that is so public. Im sure that next year will be different. Im certain that the misteps of this year will give MASI perspective and a new approach for next year... things not to repeat. But most of all, Im sure that we will all look forward to watching bang up job including all the bells and whistles that we expect from a MASI production.
