Sean’s Morning Meds; Praise the living God for all He does for - TopicsExpress

Sean’s Morning Meds; Praise the living God for all He does for His children. Sat in on an ONLINE MEETING. And the topic was on COURTESY and I heard some really good stuff. But what blew me away was I heard an old quote that was quoted that my grandpa use to use about COURTESY. And the lady shared this about COURTESY, “Common COURTESY doesn’t cost you a dime and it will take you to the moon and back.” When she said that my mouth dropped open and I said isn’t that the truth. My Grandpa would always say that and I found out later in life that it takes a whole lot to be nasty than it does to be kind. Through recovery common courtesy has taken me a long ways and it is a powerful asset to have in my recovery. Matter of fact I had to pull it out of my arsenal just the other day when this particular person was being rude. This person rudely cut me off from entering my assigned area. And even though this person was rude to me, I applied common courtesy by saying, “Go ahead, I’ll wait until you clear space I see you got your hands full.” Now back in the day that would have never happened, I would have snapped. But as my Grandma would say, “Wisdom comes with time.” Today it’s a must for me to apply common courtesy because what it does for me. It allows me to keep my morals in check and even if the person don’t deserve common courtesy. I apply it toward them anyway hoping it sends a message that this person is giving me respect though I’m treating them unjustly. Common Courtesy has inspired me to step outside of the physical and work on the things that are spiritual. By me applying this asset has saved me a many of confrontations. Until the next time, In closing, may to good Lord keep you and bless you.
