Search warrant leads to four drug arrests and seizure of three guns (Camden, NJ) – Camden County Police Department Narcotics/Gang Unit detectives working in conjunction with the Camden HIDTA Task Force executed a search warrant Thursday in East Camden that resulted in four arrests and the seizure of three guns. The search warrant was executed at a home on the unit block of Leonard Avenue as part of an ongoing investigation. Detectives recovered three illegal guns – a loaded Ruger .22 caliber revolver, a loaded RG40 .38 special revolver and a loaded Clerke .22 caliber revolver. Detectives also recovered 39 bags of heroin and $724 in cash. Detectives also arrested four suspects at the home: Elijah Baker, 55, of Camden, was charged with Possession of CDS, Possession With Intent to Distribute, Possession With Intent to Distribute Within 1,000 feet of a School and three counts of Possession of a Weapon With CDS. Jason Melton, 37, of Riverton; Jasmine Ortiz, 19, of Camden; and Jamere Rodgers, 21, of Camden, were all charged with Possession of CDS, Possession With Intent to Distribute and Possession With Intent to Distribute Within 1,000 feet of a School. All four were remanded to the county jail. Bail for Baker was set at $100,000 cash or bond. Bail for Melton was set at $50,000 cash or bond. Bail for Ortiz and Rodgers was set at 10 percent of $35,000.
