Season Update: Winter 361 The news from this season is mixed at best. While farmers have continued to report an excellent harvest as Autumn turns into a mild Winter and trade is booming with Whitmouth’s allies, there has also been a grim indication that Whitmouth’s time of peace is drawing to a close; A group of adventurers brought back a report that Silverstar is amassing an army and was only narrowly prevented from unleashing the Kraken on the fishing town of Nova Prospect. The leader of Nova Prospect was revealed to be a traitor under the control of Silverstar, and was killed in battle with these adventurers. Silverstar is also moving against the dragons and many other races, having mind-bent at least one into a willing servant, as well as hundreds of elves, dwarves, orcs, lizards, serpents, and humans. Presumably related to this is the fact that the dragon Alak-tar flew into Whitmouth unexpected about half way through the season, shouted at a lot of people, and then flew off with the adventurer Zendri Tobar. Also related to Silverstar was an attack on the Border Patrol at the Westguard Outpost. Several were killed in the attack, but luckily there was an unusually large number of the Patrollers in the fort at the time and they managed to drive off the attackers, who were all wearing Silverstar symbols. The Governor has authorised funding to double the size of the Border Patrol and arm the forts more heavily. She has also called Commander Xian Yu An out of retirement and placed her in charge of the Border Patrol once again. A more happy report claimed that many Orc tribes assumed to have been destroyed in the clash between the Shadow Cultists and the Serpent-folk over seven years ago had in fact escaped and the Orc tribes have recently been peacefully uniting under one leader. While most find this to be good news, there are some who are alarmed at the prospect of a unified Orc nation and fear they will attempt to expand their territory by taking Whitmouth’s. In slightly more cheerful news, a group of adventurers exploring the Southern end of Mithrasia found a colony of dryads in the forest near Towertop and bargained peacefully with them over land which could be cleared as farmland for the people of Towertop. Another group of explorers returned from the peninsula with wild stories of a wish-granting djinni , which prompted several foolish young farmers to go out exploring. Most have returned empty handed. Others have simply not returned—surely because they had their wishes granted and are living it up in the mainland somewhere.
