***Seasonal Plant Of The Week*** Mahonia - Oregon berry Mahonia are evergreen shrubs with leathery, pinnate leaves which are often spine-toothed. They bare clusters of racemes of sometimes fragrant yellow flowers which are often followed by black or purple berries. Mahonia x media Charity is an upright evergreen shrub which can grow up to 4m tall. It bares pinnate leaves composed of up to 21 lance-shaped leaflets. Small, cup-shaped flowers are borne in erect, clustered terminal racemes up to 35cm long in late autumn and winter. Height & Spread - 2.5-4m x 2.5-4m Position - Partial shade to Full sun Aspect - All Aspects Exposure - Sheltered or Exposed Moisture - Well- drained, Moist But Well-drained Soil - Clay, Sand, Loam, Chalk pH - Acid, Alkaline, Neutral Maturity - 10-20years
