Seasons By Seth Sonnier A wind carried my whisper, soft against your ear. My love covered you like a blanket in winter. My words were sweet like cider. Your face was soft as snow. This mustve been the season I was looking for. As things began to warm between us, Our hands intertwined like branches from fresh green trees. Ah, how the birds would sing. I was the meadow, you were the creek. You kept me from thirst, yet still, I was always thirsty. The long days were too short. The summer could not contain our infinite plans. We played like children, well into the night. Cotton sheets draped our bare skin. We were hot and overcome with chills. Theres always a dreadful fall. Green leaves fade and drop. School starts again. Oh, to be young again. With age, beauty fades. Once again, winter makes her way.
