Seattle Seahawks ~ This is for the fan who said the Seahawks offense sucks, lol. They will take it to the Eagles next Sunday. Go Hawks!!! :) Everybody who votes MVP: Marshawn Lynch, a lot of touchdowns; Marshawn Lynch, a lot of touchdowns; he doesn’t like to talk, guys don’t like me when I talk; Marshawn Lynch. - Richard Sherman #SEAvsSF #BeastMode Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson have Seahawks’ offense running in the right direction seahawks On a night when the Seahawks’ defense was the big story in a 19-3 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, let’s also pause to give thanks for what Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson meant to the offense. Vic Fangio not only knew what was coming, he spelled it out in emphatic fashion. In the short week leading up to the Seahawks’ 19-3 victory at Levi’s Stadium on Thursday night, the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator painted a challenging picture for his unit when it came to defending the NFL’s No. 1-ranking rushing offense. “Theyre a tough running game to defend, Fangio said. “Theyve got Marshawn Lynch, who we all know, if hes not the best back in the league hes second to somebody, I wouldnt know who that would be. And then youve got (Wilson) back there who could pull the ball at any time and become a runner himself. “So, its like defending Lynch and his great running style, and when Wilson has the ball in his hand, hes like defending Barry Sanders with his quickness and speed and elusiveness. Hes a tough assignment.” Lynch and Wilson proved to be too tough for the 49ers’ No. 2-ranked defense. Lynch was “a hammer,” as coach Pete Carroll put it, while pounding away for 104 yards on 20 carries, including a 33-yarder. Wilson, meanwhile, was as resourceful and elusive as ever, running for 35 yards on seven carries and also using his feet to buy time against the 49ers’ pass rush so his receivers could get open as he completed 15 of 22 passes for 236 yards and the game’s only touchdown. The Seahawks had 157 rushing yards; a tad shy of their average coming into the game (169.6). But there was nothing average – and definitely nothing below average – about how the Seahawks ran the ball on Thanksgiving evening because of the opponent, the venue and the situation.
