Seattle Supercross- My week wasn’t the most productive due to a case of the common cold or some sort of upper respiratory infection, but I was able to get well enough to feel alright for race day. During the day I was focusing on taking things one step at a time, paying close attention to my diet and fluid intake. It was a very nice day to say the least with the sun shining, a comfortable temperature, and a jammed packed pit party. The track was fun but rutty and I thought to myself before my last practice just to go out and be patient and not be in a rush. I had already set a decent time in my first qualifying practice and wasn’t in a due or die situation. The funny thing is that I found myself pretty in tune with the lines and logged in a fast time to put me 14th overall for the day. The night show came and the highlight was my premeditated pass to get into the main event on the last lap of the lcq. After battling for fifth and watching third and fourth for three laps, I knew I had one place to make the pass, but I had to hustle starting two sections in advance if I was going to get a shot at it. Long story short I made a very aggressive pass and had to fight for the next few corners to hold the position. I’m not happy the other guy eventually ended up on the ground trying to get me back, but that’s racing. I’ve been there and will be there again I’m sure. The main event consisted of a lot of fading which I’m not happy about but I drive east with my head held high and celebrating the victories. Each week I show signs of excellence which either surprises my team members or myself. That is what we strive for. Im really looking forward to getting healthy and spending my weekend off with my girlfriend and her family. The countdown Met Life Stadium begins!!!
