Seattle just passed a law making the minimum wage $15. All the - TopicsExpress

Seattle just passed a law making the minimum wage $15. All the liberals cheered. Me, personally, I am laughing. I look forward to watching them complain about the lack of business and jobs over the next few years, the increases in cost for food and services, and them wondering why this wont work. Economics 101, supply and demand and cost analysis. If you have to pay employee A $15/hr to flip a burger in Seattle, but can pay $9/hr for employee B outside of Seattle, which option will you take as the employer? Furthermore, if you break even point regarding employees is 10 employees each making $10/hr. but you are being told you must pay them 50% more than your break even amount, you can either raise prices sharply to offset the increase cost of increased labor wages, or you can eliminate some of those workers so that things balance out. And yet, they think this will be better.
