Seattle makes me cry in frustration. When people make bold predictions of it becoming the next Silicon Valley, or whatever, all I can do is shake my head at their naiveté. Its hostile to business (not the most hostile, mind you), mired in ridiculous regulations, full of social do-gooders, has a false sense of diversity, and is really -- dare I say it -- a gentrified backwater in the upper armpit of the country. Its a good thing its a really pretty city.
