Second blog piece after a tough week at school for my girls. Emotionally disturbed students should not be left without a strong net. But it needs to be a different net than the one that catches the trusting, vulnerable students with cognitive challenges, like my Caroline, or the ones who truly need academic support and a quiet place to process, like Lizzie........The sweet, passive child with poor communication skills, processing issues, or low cognitive ability should not be at the mercy of a child with violent behaviors.
