Second day of my challenge. Yesterday I introduced you a guitarist today it will be a violinist. Nigel Kennedy is the best violinist in the world. Nigel Kennedy regarded as the enfant terrible of classical music. Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Gabriel and Santana belong as much to his repertoire as Vivaldi, Beethoven and Bach! I present to you an impressive piece of music. Third Stone from the Sun is 14 minutes long--but the playing is fine, with plenty of improvisation. Kennedy transcribed Hendrixs more complex tunes into parts for winds and cellos, while he and his string section (two guitarists and two cellists) go free form. Loose and jazzy, its an impressive--though far from classical--effort, with none of the typical clichés found in rock tribute albums. I love and admire Nigel Kennedy.
