Second point. We have been asked several times why we do not have a 501c3 nonprofit status. We dont have this because it is a very expensive and long process. We choose to spend our money on the dogs. We do have a business license. Because of this, we pay taxes on every adoption we make. Lets do the math. We give a dog all their shots-$50. We get them spayed/neutered- $160-$200. We feed them, care for them, administer medication. We charge, at the most, $100 adoption fee. Usually less. We pay 6% tax on each adoption and donation. How are we making any profit from this? We arent! We are perfectly legal and within all guidelines. Third, everyone keeps asking, are they 501c3? So, if this is the big question on everyones lips, it must mean we take a special lie detectors test and swear to God not to lie cheat or steal, right? No, Ive posted a list of benefits of being a nonprofit below. WE get the benefits. Not you. We could get grants, not pay sales tax, etcetera. So, this is why you will not share the album of the dogs on the kill list in Webster County, Brenda Johnson? Try again.
