Second stop on Day 3 was Mt Rushmore! As we talked about the third pre trip reflection (about how the black hills was the Native Americans sacred ground and Americans carved heads into it) we all went about looking for where they would talk about the treaties with the Natives. The trail that would have informed us about that was closed. It was still amazing to see how with little technology the faces are very accurate, and we learn about the history behind the making of the art work.
