See, I hate to sound like one of those broken African dictators who always try to hide behind colonialism to cover up for their own inefficiencies. That said however, I hate to buy into any Western narrative just because I live in the West...for almost all Western narratives are tailored to suit their taste and their taste only. When the West first invaded Africa, they called themselves explorers, colonizers and missionaries. Now when they go back to Africa, theyre called philanthropies, donors, partners, and tourists. But when we come down here, were referred as aliens and [undocumented] immigrants. And weve to settle for this biased description of us because of our inability to tell our own story! We need Africans to tell Africas stories, and not some so-called Western PhD holder from Columbia University whos never lived outside New York in his/her entire life.
