Seeds for the new pasture have been broadcasted. PART of the - TopicsExpress

Seeds for the new pasture have been broadcasted. PART of the field is rolled. Our old John Deere tractor backfired and blew a piece off of the distributer. There she sits in the middle of the field like some ornery mule refusing to budge. Noticed that the cucumbers, squash, and all varieties of beans are poking their noses up through the soil this morning. Need to reapply the flour to the potato plants. I am back to picking potato beetles by hand ... daily. I console myself by knowing that these potatoes are going to taste so good when we finally dig them. They will not have taken up any insecticides, or herbicides, or chemical fertilizer into the tubers. People comment on how good our potatoes taste. It is because they are tasting the taste of potato only. My giant pumpkin seeds have yet to germinate. I saved and planted only the biggest and the best of last years seed. Had to load that pumpkin onto the front end loader of the tractor to get it out of the field last fall. I might have to name this years pumpkin Cinderellas Coach :) Tired and being silly! Neighbours were over this morn. to ask for a hand haying tomorrow. Me thinks that I am getting too old to be throwing hay bales. I know for a fact that 2 of the ladies that will be there tomorrow are 10 yrs. + my senior. After the haying is finished there will be a good gathering of good folks sharing farm related info. and telling tales of bygone years of farming. That is my favorite part of haying.
