Seeing Sylvias post of the 2 fat Buddhas - reminded me of the other day when I was getting my nails done I noticed the Asian gals had set out a bowl of fruit in front of their Buddha statue as an offering to him. My curiosity got the better of me. Id been wanting to ask about that every time Ive been in a nail salon! So this time I asked the gal What happens to the food offeriings you give Buddha? I was expecting some mysterious spiritual answer..... or that she would witness to me about her religion. She laughed & said Oh, we eat it. I said YOU eat the offering YOU give Buddha? She said Oh yes - we give him candy, or fruit or any food we like to eat. Hmmmmmmmm....? YOU KNOW what my next question would have been - but she gives me a good deal on my nails so..... maybe one of these times when I get to know her a little better well have a little talk about my Jesus...........And the offering HE gives US!
