Seeing is Believing! Acts 11:17 (Amplified Bible) If - TopicsExpress

Seeing is Believing! Acts 11:17 (Amplified Bible) If then God gave to them the same Gift [equally] as He gave to us when we believed in (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on) the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I and what power or authority had I to interfere or hinder or forbid or withstand God? In this chapter of Acts we read the account of Peter being Obedient to share the Gospel with the household of Cornelius, a Gentile who loved and worshiped God. As Luke records later the conversation between Peter and the other Disciples regarding the WORK of Holy Spirit upon the hearts of these non-Jewish Believers, I have to ask just one question. What makes anyone dare to think this generation would be any different than that generation of the 1st century? This could be drawn out into a lengthy discussion today, but after Peter shared the account of his Proclaiming Christ to this household of Gentiles, they accepted Christ Jesus, experienced the baptism of Holy Spirit and were instantly transformed from the kingdom of darkness and Gloriously became citizens of the Kingdom of God. There was no debate concerning what God had done, only REJOICING that more precious souls had been touched by Gods POWER. Why then today, has the attitude of Believers changed, from one of REJOICING that men and women are experiencing this POWER of Gods Spirit, to that of criticism, daring even to question God as to whether this is of HIM. Gods WORD is inerrant, infallible and Eternal, at WORK in Ways that do not need our approval nor our participation for that matter. God moves Sovreignly, it is by HIS Spirit that LIFE is given to any who will accept it by FAITH. Lest one be found hindering the current WORK of God in the lives of men and women, we must accept Holy Spirit and HIS POWER with JOY and Thankfulness. For it is in this transformation by Gods Spirit that our spiritualeyesight into the realm of spiritual things is opened, and we are able to see what Peter saw with undisputable clarity and then boldly defended what he saw to the church. We as Believers must come to an understanding on this, God continues to move present day, in very much the same way HE did in the 1st century. This WORK cannot be seen with the natural eyes, only eyes that have been opened by the POWER of God... OLord, I thank YOU for opening our eyes to the WORK of YOUR Spirit, our ears to YOUR Voice that speaks LIFE over us. Guide us as we Boldly Declare YOUR goodness and Grace in this hour. Move as YOU did at Pentecost upon us, speak YOUR WORDs into our hearts by the language of heaven. May we further the Kingdom message throughout the earth, as YOUR Spirit keeps a vigilant watch over the TRUTH to bring forth the increase that pleases YOU. In the Name of Jesus, the name that is above all names. Our Lord and KING forever,,, AMEN
