Seeing is Believing... The moment when continent Africa comes in our mind... Oh no! Africa is something like a continent of malnutrition, demon elephants, Ebola, high illiteracy, e-hackers, low opportunities, highly under developed economy, blaw blaw... Once you land here & visit Lagos, a commercial capital of entire Africa continent will surely tarnish your all perceptions you are carrying since ages! Bentley, Porsche, Merc CL65 AMG Coupe, Beemers 7 Series, Lexus LFA, are commonly found on the road or parking in Shoprite or Spar shopping malls in Victoria island or many places in Ikoi or Leiki. One of the common thing with India you will find here is yes you guess it right! Its traffic which is as terrific as coming from Gurgaon to Delhi or coming from Mumbai Central to Andheri or from Salt lake to Ruby hospital, Kolkata at 6 pm but the fleet of cars would be different. Yes, all luxury minus Altos or Santros or Swift or Dzire ! Yes, you’ll love to see or you have to be proud to see Indian Auto painted in yellow colour plying everywhere with TVS logo for local transport but people there call it “Marwah”. Hats off to Venu Srinivasan, Chairman TVS Motor for keeping his monopoly or he is just following “Blue Ocean Strategy” in that country…only he or God knows. Since I was uncomfortable due to carrying my pen without ink since last 2 days & decided to purchase from London (my next destination). Hurray! I easily found cartridges of my Mont Blanc star walker fountain pen! If it could be in India Ive to roam around in kms of cities like Indore or Jaipur or Kolkata or Bhubaneswar or Bhopal or Pune. While coming out of Hotel Four Point near Oniru estate, you would be surprised to see the richness of its ultra rich citizens though you can’t judge them in their traditional clothes but by their royal fleet of cars. Banks. Yes, you correctly read... is found in every nook & corner of the city be it UBA, Zenith, First Bank, Stanbic, etc. Here the number of bank’s branches per person is highest in the world! Do poor lives in Africa? Oh.. before coming here how wrongly my presumption was. Yup! Seeing is believing…:)
