Seeing the Future Can you see into the future? Most would say - TopicsExpress

Seeing the Future Can you see into the future? Most would say ‘no.’ We tend to live our lives with our sight focused on the present and perhaps a few days ahead. If we think about the future at all it is usually to hope that everything works out well, or hope that nothing bad will happen to us. If we become afflicted with a sickness or some other challenge comes our way, we become very focused on the present, and the future is seen with dread. Will we make it past this storm of life? There are two verses in Hebrews that have given me a key to overcoming obstacles and having peace in the midst of the challenges of life. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. (Heb 11:27) He endured by seeing Him who is invisible! We have two sets of eyes, or two kinds of vision. Our natural eyes see only what is visible, but our spiritual eyes can see into the world of the Spirit. Seeing the invisible is the key to overcoming the visible! Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Heb. 11:1) Faith takes us immediately into the realm of things not seen. We don’t need faith for what we see, but for what we can’t see with our natural eyes. When we can see the future with our spiritual eyes, faith is born that will carry us through to victory. Whenever I have been challenged physically or am facing some other obstacle in my life, I have learned to switch over to my spiritual eyes. I look into the future and if I can see myself healed, whole, prosperous, playing with my grandkids, enjoying life with my wife, then I know that I am going to pass through the storm successfully. Rather than focus on the temporal challenge and becoming fearful and full of doubt, I endure by seeing the unseen. As long as I can look into the future and ‘see’ myself fulfilling my purpose in God, I know that any current challenge is temporal. It will pass. I will overcome.
