Seeing the earthquake posts in what I consider home (Marin - Inverness, Fairfa, CA) ~ all of you, PLEASE have your emergency go-bags ready, one in your car, and if youre in the Natl Seashore - have 7 (not 3-4) days worth of water & food stored. Living ON the Fault requires preparedness, and youll invariably be helping others who are not. Dont be one of those who arent prepared. Take the CERT training!!!! Have an emergency bag, and a personal go-bag for each family member (sneakers, sweatshirt, stuffed animal if little, etc) Marshall is the most prepared community emergency response team, and they wont get to you in Inverness! Its not a matter of if, but when. Be prepared, have a plan. Talk to Burton Eubank, Heidi Gregory, Libby Coleman. Heres a list for the car backpack - Love to All of You!!!:Suggestions for Emergency Backpack (recycle your child’s old school backpack) Emergency vest & hard hat Flashlight & extra batteries Work gloves (not polyester, as they will melt near heat) Safety goggles, dust masks (more than one) Rain poncho (more, if family members) First Aid Kit (include small roll of duct tape & space blanket) Whistle (attach to outside of pack) Family style walkie/talkie & batteries Writing set: paper/pen/marker/grease pencil (to mark doors as you check on houses) Gas/water shut-off tool Water bottle/snack bars Old pair of tennis shoes/warm sweater/extra pair of socks Extra pair of prescription glasses Pocketknife/ leatherman’s tool Any prescription meds you might need Traumeel - topical homeopathic analgesic, antiinflammatory. Works faster for injuries, bumps, bruises than anything!
