Seeking Donations of Non-Perishable Foods for Veterans The holidays might be over, but it’s not too late to donate non-perishable food items for Veterans in need. As you make your grocery list to head to the store, think about purchasing extra food items from the list below, which can be provided for Veterans who cannot afford food or are too frail and weak to travel to the store. Food donations can be scheduled by contacting the Philadelphia VA Medical Center Voluntary Service Office by calling 215-823-5868 or e-mailing [email protected]. Food will be distributed as needed. This is a great community activity for grade school children who wish to give back to Veterans. Help start a Veteran’s New Year off with healthy foods. Donations of the following items only will be greatly appreciated: - Powdered milk - Peanut butter - Bread - Trail mix - Canned meals (soups, chili, stews) with pop top lids - Puddings - Canned fruit and veggies with pop top lids - Granola bars - Water - Tuna and canned meats with pop top lids - Oatmeal - Cereal - Beans - Pasta - Pasta sauce - Crackers - Fruit juice Thank you!
