Seems some people will do anything to avoid shoveling... sorry George Daniel ;) On Day 28 of fevers and pneumonia and Day 9 of my leisurely stay at the Regional Resort and Spa....we have a diagnosis: BOOP...try to say that without giggling! The full term is known as Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia or the most recently updated term: COP. It is very rare:1/100,000. My lung specialist says that he usually sees one case every 2 years and I was this years chosen one! Great to be special!! Cryptogenic basically means that they have know idea what the cause is and nothing else is working. Sounds so OO7ish. Treatment is not what I had hoped for but hopefully it should nail this sucker. I will be on 3 months of the steroid Prednisone starting with a very high dose and tapering. This should turn this bone rack into a pufferfish. The side effects are abdominal weight gain, puffy neck and face, with wasting in the arms and legs: Im going be a walking M and M! There are still other possibilities that they are continuing to look at. Just had a whack of weirdo blood tests done including ANA: Anti-nuclear Antibodies!!! I knew that trip to Chernobyl was a bad idea! The plus is that I will feel like swinging from the chandeliers in 24-48 hours as it gives a euphoric psychological effect first with the physiological effect trailing a couple of days behind. I get to lounge at the spa another 3-4 days to make sure it is working before I get the boot. So I took my 12x 5 mg tabs today and am looking forward to feeling healthy and high energy again... Thanks to Earle-Gina Burrows for dropping by with breakfast, to Tamara Clark Cosman , Celeste Fairchild and Sherri Harris for keeping the humour during this tough news, to Ann Savoy for the nice visit, to Daryl Steeves for being there as the best coach ever and to George Daniel who holds it all together. Huge thanks to Dr. Adriani who is very smart and working hard to find a solution:) As always, thanks to all of you amazing peeps that have shored me up during one of my most challenging experiences. Xoxoxo On the road to pufferdom...let the next journey begin!!
