Seen here with Air Marshal Noor Khan, next to an F-104 Starfighter, is Wing Commander Mervyn Leslie Middlecoat, who was a triple decorated war hero. During the Pakistan India war of 1965, he shot down 2 Indian jets over Karachi. He participated in 1965, Pakistan India war, 1968 Arab Israeli war (Flying from Jordan) and 1971, India Pakistan war. On 12th December 1971, his jet while flying low after successfully avoiding an air to air missile from an IAF Mig-21, crashed into the Gulf of Kutch. His body was not found.
