Seen this comment about shooting Flashy Music Videos: There has to be a balance between Reality, Fiction and Authenticity of the product. The product cost should translate well to product sales it is simple economics. An artist in the west will make a certain investment on a video knowing that they will have a certain return of investment, therefore often eventually affording him the kind of lifestyle the portray in their videos. They end up selling their product for millions and buying the very cars, houses, clothes and bling bling they show off in their videos. Whats more they eventually end up being endorsed by the products they place in their videos such that they never have to buy or rent them, they are often offered to them for free and often for keeps!!! Yes true it is a product our artists are selling, therefore a sensible budget needs to be allocated to researching the product, production costs, marketing and product delivery, in such a way that there is enough return to make it a worthwhile investment.
