Segundo o Citi Research: «Based on past resolution approaches, we believe that this is one of the toughest approaches the EU has taken: in most previous cases, shareholders of viable banks were given exposure to both the“good” and “bad” parts of the bank. (...) While the resolution did not involve a direct writedown of equity and junior bondholders (from what we understand), the Bank of Portugal has effectively given most downside and left almost no upside. Why this harsh deal? We believe the ECB and EU Commission were keen to isolate any remaining risks (e.g., Angola) from the domestic franchise and ahead of the ECB taking over as supervisor on 4 Nov.» Resumé: Draghi não quer herdar caldos na tugulândia. Acto I.
