Selah January 2 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves - TopicsExpress

Selah January 2 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? (Romans 6:16) Power is an attribute of God, not of man. Will is a very real thing, just as a hammer is a very real thing, but we can no more wield our will than a man with no arms can wield a hammer. Our will may well be free, but it is powerless in and of itself. The door of your heart can no more open itself than the door of your house can. The will may be active in the conscious mind, causing us to take action, but the power behind that will emanates from the heart. Our will is ever subject to the dictates of our heart. Power is not an attribute of the will, as the will is always and inevitably manifested only through surrender. We surrender our will either to the flesh or to the Spirit, and our actions will always reflect which of these surrenders has already taken place and which power it is that is at work within us. Faith is the only act of power that we have to exercise. Selah.
