Seldom does a day go by that I do not think of the time I spent in Viet Nam. While some choose to try to forget I hope I always remember. Some of the best men I have ever known are those I served with, not only in Viet Nam but throughout my entire military career. As a young man I went to work for $.136/hour (not $13.60 nor $1.36) because I believed that every citizen has an obligation to serve this nation, not in trying to Fundamentally and Foundationally change (read change fromCapitalism and Contitutional change) as this administration has promised to do but to maintain the full freedoms an guarantees that began when men of free will chose to reject tyranny and the monarchy under which they suffered. Today I think of all the veterans I knew that died in service to protect our way of life. I think of those veterans who even today are willing to endure pain, hunger, thirst, exhaustion and ridicule or even risk death or being maimed in the hopes that our Constitution is preserved. I am disgusted that any politician would even attempt marginalize veterans by classifying them as entitlement recipients. I consider my military retirement as backpay for the years I spent away from the comforts and security known by those who will not work, those who suck the life out of our Constitution; by those supporting politicains and policies that undermine what men and women have died to protect. I am disgusted by Federal Employees who are now union members. They have been courted by those who seek to bring this nation into a Socialist ideology by the subjugation of our Constitutional rights and freedoms They view thier security and comforts to be more important than of those who (physically, mentally and spiritully) fight to preserve this country. Civilians cannot appreciate the sacrifice veterans and current day boots on the ground military members sacrifice and endure daily. The chidding and reproach of my military service by liberals (now called Progressives) still rings in my ears from many years ago. Little has changed, new tag lines, crafty (does not mean truthful) speeches, slick ads and technologically savy politicians does not change the fact that what they want is power and control over a free people. A young soldier with a GED certificate is more honorable and understands the rights and needs of free people than most (Harvard) educated politicians. Take time to learn about what is happening to this country; I guarantee you EVERY soldier makes it a priority to know what they are fighting for. Thank a veteran today? Do you want to make their service and sacrifices count? In every election henceforth vote to keep, uphold and embrace our Constitution and the God given right to worship or not worship our maker and redeemer. May God take pity on those who honor His gifts, May God Bless America.
