Self-Deliverance: Five more questions you should ask yourself from time to time 6. Am I grateful to God for the gift of life? Some of us worry too much about food, clothing, and all that. You worry so much you often forget that the greatest gift of God is life! It is only the living that can praise the Lord. Be grateful for the gift of life! I know you are not yet married, but be grateful to God first, because the dead are not thinking about marriage. I know you are still trying to get a job, but be grateful first for the gift of life, because the ones who have been in hospital beds for years are not thinking about jobs! O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness (Psalms 30:3-4 KJV) 7. Do I complain a lot? The more you complain, the less you obtain. Stop murmuring. It is not our habit in the kingdom. People have lost their lives because of murmuring at God. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. (1 Corinthians 10:10 KJV) Thank God for where you are now, and allow Him to take you to where He wants you to be. Before you complain about that headache, realize it is because you have a head! Before you complain about your job that you are not really enjoying, realize that some others wish they had that job. Refusing to complain is an attitude you must imbibe, it is a pre-requisite to continual enjoyment of the blessings of God! Ask God to help you to stay thankful to Him! 8. Am I accountable to any authority figure? Accountability is a must in life if you must go far. We are expressly commanded to follow good exemplary lives. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:12 KJV) You must have people over you that speak into your life and destiny from time to time. Saul mentored David and David saw what would happen to a King whom the Spirit of God departed from. He saw Saul in a state of madness. So when he made a mistake, his utmost cry of the heart is “Lord, take not thy Holy Spirit from me!” Moses was a mentor over Joshua, so he was able to take over from him. Elijah was the fiery mentor over Elisha and Elisha reproduced those same miracles. It is just the law of life. I tell young ladies, never get into a relationship with a man that has no authority figure over his life. It is a risky thing to do. There is a difference between courtship and courting disaster. Married couples, stop reporting each other to friends and all and sundry. Rather, have an authority figure that both of you respect and who can be confidential about your issues and agree to talk to that person from time to time for wisdom. 9. Is there any habitual sin I am struggling with? God never asks you to cope and live in sin! He commands that every man should repent. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (Acts 17:30 KJV) Why would God command you to repent? He has already taken care of the power behind sin and he has rendered it useless. Sin has no more power over you. You can choose to live right and stay away from the bond of iniquity. Jesus took your sins, and destroyed its power and its consequence! When you make a mistake, you can simply go back into the embrace of your father. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14 KJV) Let go of every habitual sins! That is how to live and enjoy the fullness of God’s blessings! You can say ‘No’ to ‘Jericho traps’ and wait for the ultimate in marriage: ‘Jeru trips!’ I tell you it is worth waiting for! 10. Am I pursuing my purpose in life? Lastly, is a pertinent question you must ask your self always. Wherever you are now, whatever you are doing now, are you pursuing God’s purpose for your life? Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5 KJV) Everybody is created for a reason. Nobody is born a mistake or an error. We are all ordained to be here. Your purpose is not your decision; it is your discovery. It is to be discovered because God has already decided it. So you go back to God, and ask Him, My father, why did you create me? Why am I here? What is my purpose here? And you know what? When you ask Him, He will answer you! Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. (Jeremiah 33:3 KJV) The reason the discovery of your purpose becomes very important is because it has a direct relationship with two crucial things: Your fulfillment in life and your prosperity. Your prosperity is hidden in your field, and your field is your area of jurisdiction, your purpose in life! I pray for you this morning, may God open your eyes and lead you into the path of purpose, fulfillment and prosperity in Jesus name! CONFESSION FOR THE DAY I am a lover of Gods word. I grow daily PRAYER FOR THE DAY Ask God to increase you in the inner man THOUGHT FOR THE DAY That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; (Ephesians 3:16 KJV) ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY Forgive all that have offended you.
