Self Will or Gods Will? Humans have always thought that they - TopicsExpress

Self Will or Gods Will? Humans have always thought that they could guide their own lives. Self will is what got Adam and Eve in trouble, in the first place. Failure to abide by Gods rules or commands has created nothing but chaotic destruction on an earth that was once a paradise. He (Jesus) said to them, You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others; but, God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in Gods sight. Luke 16:15 (NIV). Our very thoughts, regardless of how highly we are educated, are just futile, lowly, and very base in comparison to Gods thoughts. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My (Gods) ways higher, than your ways; and My thoughts, than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9 (NIV). God wants to sustain us with our every need, bless us, and prosper us; but, our self will gets in the way far too often. When we insist on doing things our way, the Lord steps back and lets us do it. All a persons ways seem pure to them; but, motives are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans. Proverbs 16:2-3 (NIV). When we realize how lowly and futile that we are; and we commit our trust to the Lord for all our needs, God is faithful to His promises. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus. To our God, and Father, be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4:19-20 (NIV). Gods original plans for humanity was for us to be dependent upon Him for all our needs. God assigned a job to Adam to be the caretaker of the Garden of Eden; but, the Lord planted the seeds, watered the ground, and provided all that was needed. The Lord God took the man (Adam) and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Genesis 2:15 (NIV). The only thing that Adam was warned to not touch was the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This was the only commandment, that existed at that time, for Adam to honor. And the Lord God commanded the man (Adam), You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but, you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for when you eat from it, you will certainly die. Genesis 2:16-17 (NIV). This is where mans self will began: when Adam and Eve chose to not obey what they had been told by God. A person may think their own ways are right; but, the Lord weighs the heart. Proverbs 21:2 (NIV). This direct disobedience to Gods command was an act to insert their own wills, which was in direct rebellion to Gods will. Mankinds self will now brought hardship, chaos, confusion, pain, and suffering to what was once a paradise. A wonderful loving and merciful God then made a way back to Gods fellowship, when God sent His Son (Jesus) (Yeshua) to bear all the sins of mankind, while being crucified and nailed on the cruel unmerciful cross of the Roman government. Jesus opened up the way for us to once again be able to come to our Holy Heavenly Father through our belief in Jesus sacrifice, our repenting of our sins, and our acceptance of Christ as our Lord and Savior. Now, as Christians, we can come to our Heavenly Father with all our needs. Praise be to the Lord; to God, our Savior, Who daily bears our burdens. Psalms 68:19 (NIV). When we get our self wills out of the way, and trust the Lord for our needs, God will supply our every need. And God is able to bless you abundantly; so, that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV). God promised to never leave us or forsake us. Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; because God has said, Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Hebrews 13:5 (NIV). This promise is in both of the bibles testaments. Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am He (God); I am He who will sustain you. I have made you, and I will carry you; I will sustain you, and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4 (NIV). When we leave our self wills and turn things over to God, He takes care of us. Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalms 55:22 (NIV).
