Self inflating mattress: How to use and care instructions. To Inflate Unroll your mattress and open the valve and leave it to self inflate. If after a short time the mattress has not fully inflated, close the valve and gently push the air from the inflated section into the bottom, non-inflated section of the mattress. Open the valve again and let the mattress continue to self inflate. Once inflated, you can personalize the firmness by lying on the mattress with the valve near your head. If the mattress is too firm, open the value and expel the required amount of air. If the mattress requires more air, you can when off the mattress give it a couple of breaths of air to fully inflate. To Deflate Open the valve, then fold in thirds lengthwise and roll toward the valve end to push any extra air out of the mattress. Close the value, and then from the bottom gently roll the air out until you get to the top one third of the mattress, open the value and roll out the remaining air. Storage Recommendations Your air mattress can be completely deflated and rolled tight for storage. We recommend leaving the valve open and storing your mattress in a stuff sack to protect it from dirt, dampness and sharp objects. Then store it in a cool, dark, dry place where nothing is going to puncture it. Storing the mattress with the air value open allows the mattress to expand and contract and also allows any moisture inside the mattress to gradually dry out (especially if you have used your breathe to partially inflate) If the mattress is not stored fully inflated, the foam cells inside may become crushed and may not fully expand to suck the air in through the valve. (Barometric pressure and significant changes in weather and temperature will affect your air mattress’s inflation and possibly damage it.) • Do not contaminate the mattress with Deet-based insect repellants, sunscreen, or chlorine. • Do not expose mattress to long periods of direct sunlight. Ultraviolet rays gradually destroy the coated fabric. • Always carry the air mattress in a stuff sack or other protective bag. • Keep mattresses away from your pets.
