Semi “Ramps” Off I-74 then Lands in a Fiery Crash Decatur County: Yesterday afternoon a semi driver went for a wild ride after he was forced off the roadway by another vehicle. According to Senior Trooper David Noah, yesterday afternoon at approximately 1:39 a 2000 Peterbilt semi tractor trailer rig driven by 30 year old Ryan T. Young of Owenton, KY was eastbound on I-74 approaching exit 132 when another vehicle began drifting into his lane. Young told S/Tpr. Noah he swerved to avoid the other vehicle and ran off the south side of the interstate where the semi ran up a hill then through the guardrail. The semi then continued eastbound as it “ramped” the U.S. 421 interchange before striking another guardrail tearing off the fuel tanks causing the fuel to ignite. Young suffered some minor facial and head injuries and his seven year old son (name not known) who was a passenger in the semi, suffered only a few scratches. Both were transported to Decatur County Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The crash remains under investigation. S/Tpr. Noah was assisted at the scene by Decatur County Sheriff’s Deputies, Greensburg Police, Greensburg Fire and EMS, and Indiana State Excise Police.
