Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., and then-Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., had once asserted, respectively, that the “nuclear option” would “ruin our country” and “put an end to democratic debate.” This is a very good read. Please read. There has always been good reason for the fillibuster, as a way to make sure, if nothing else, both sides of potential legislation was able to be aired in the public domain, and, legislation would require more than just a simple majority. Checks and balance of governing no longer exist at this point in time. It will now be governing by one ideology. Dont be fooled by a party that calls themselves democrat, not the same as democratic. The next three years could be fatal if power in congress is allowed to go unchecked. There is a whole lot more cronyism in this administration than in any other administration of the past. Reid and Obama were 100% correct when they said years ago that the nuclear option would ruin our country and put and end to the democratic debate. Scarey, the two guys that understood this just hijacked our only means for any kind of democratic debate. Scarey, isnt it?
