Senate Laments Over Change In New Lagos Airport Terminal Masterplan The Senate Committee on aviation yesterday expressed dissatisfaction with the relocation and change in the original master plan of the new terminal building to the present one under construction at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport International Airport, Lagos. The chairman of the committee, Senator Hope Uzodinma, speaking after the tour of facilities at the Lagos airport, in the company of other members of the committee, also stressed the need for the airfield lighting system at the airport to work every day in the interest of safety. On the change in the master plan, Uzodinma said the original structure was meant to accommodate 18 avio bridges which he said has been reduced to four in the present one, stressing that if the reason for the new terminal was to accommodate more aircraft at once the reduction in the number of avio bridges will only make for more congestion at the airport. He doubted that the change in structure by the management of the FAAN received the approval of the presidency. The terminal is being constructed by the China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC).
