Senator Mike Doherty: "Once towns become reliant on the revenues generated by red light cameras, they have a disincentive to make these simple, low-cost improvements that would prevent red light running and reduce the level of red light ticket revenues flowing into their coffers. Ultimately, this proves the fraud of the entire red light camera program. It was never about safety, and has always been about more ways for municipalities to collect money."
