Senator Okowa Commends Members of Delta Political Vanguard The Senator representing the Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Dr. Authur Ifeanyi Okowa, has commended members of the Delta Political Vanguard, for their steadfastness, commitment and total resolve at ensuring a credible candidate whose interest is for the overall transformation and development of the oil rich state emerges as governor come 2015. Dr. Okowa who addressed members of Delta Political Vanguard for Okowa 2015 in Sapele under the leadership of Hon. Evangelist Michael Diden, Commissioner representing the Itsekiri Nationality on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) said he is happy for the caliber of persons who are membership of the body that are mainly the active politicians in Delta State since the enthronement of Democracy in Delta State in 1999. The Senator said having heard about the activities of Delta Political Vanguard, a formidable group, since the beginning of 2013, he decided to take the initiatives upon himself by visiting to express his appreciation to every member of the group for taken the pains, time and commitment to fight the course of a qualitative leadership for all Deltans at their own expense, while praying to all of them for long life and prosperity as well as God meeting their heart desires. He said since 1999, PDP has been ruling and since then, the party in Delta State has offered good governance to the people of Delta State, from the time of Chief James Ibori even till the moment of a first and almost completed second tenure of Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan which was the reason while the Delta Political Vanguard was formed to put in place another sets of good leaders that will continue the good works of those leaving the scene, praying that the prayers and the wishes of all the members of Delta Political Vanguard should be answered by God Almighty. Senator Okowa appealed to the group to reach out to the entire Deltans the reason why they emerged, to bring out the best for Delta State, appealing that in doing what they know how to do best, they must make the Lord their banner the only way they could succeed as a group, pointing out to them that he has taken the Lord God as his banner, adding that as a group they must stay focus and score their goal at the end by overcoming all challenges, obstacles and distractions that may come their way to success as there is no one who can stop them if they are focused. He told them that, while they remained focused, they should always look onto their leaders who are already well groomed in politics and remain close to God, the only way they could achieve their dreams, reminding them of all the odds that confronted him on his way to the senate but with God on his side, he was able to surmount all the intervening variables and straight he moved on to the National Assembly as he sang the chorus, “who can battle with Lord, no body”, just as he also reminded them a passage from the book of II Chronicle 20: where the children of Israel conquered their enemies after going to the Lord in prayers, assuring them that the battle is not theirs because it is of the Lord. Dr. Okowa told them that a lot of aspirants will come to them, those who do not know the needs and the geography of Delta State, that they want to govern them, but they should realize that Delta State is not “fish and tomatoes” that can be traded upon, rather they should know that they are people blessed by God, who can take their destiny in their hands to develop the state and that they should collectively make a choice of a good candidate who will build the Delta of tomorrow. He said it is not yet time for a former declaration to run the governorship race, assuring that the former declaration will shut down Delta State activities on the very day as Delta State will stand up for the truth only which can never be hidden and in preparatory to that time, members of Delta Political Vanguard should go out extra miles by reaching out to the unreached by telling them the pedigree and quality of their choice candidate, assuring that as soon as his campaign kick start, Delta Political Vanguard will be the arrow-head for the mass mobilization and campaign team of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for Governor 2015..
