Senator Schumer was at Cornell University on Monday afternoon to announce $100M to the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Light Source Lab, also known as CHESS. The CHESS lab is responsible for multiple medical and scientific breakthroughs, and it attracts more than 1,200 researchers every year. The lab was in danger of having all of its funding cut, but with Mondays announcement, the lab will not only be funded for the next 5 years, 130 jobs will also be saved.
