Senator Udoedeghe Again! *Picks APC Nomination Form *Says Hell Succeed Akpabio in 2015 By Henshaw NYONG, Uyo. Economic activities and vehicular movements were temporarily grounded to a halt on Monday in parts of Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, as a former Minister of the Federal Republic and Senator, John James Akpanudoedeghe openly declared his intention to contest next years Governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC). A mammoth crowd had besieged Udoedeghes convoy from his Chapel villa in Atan Offot, causing traffic gridlock, following him all the way to the APC state secretariat along Atiku Abubakar Way in Uyo. However, the Senator became the first governorship aspirant in the South-South Nigeria, to pick the expression of interest and nomination form of the All Progressives Congress. This reporter scooped from an APC official that the Atan Offot born heavyweight politician, paid N6Million to get the form which was presented by the South South National Vice Chairman of the party, Prince Hilliard Etta. Addressing the mammoth crowd who stormed the party secretariat, the governorship aspirant stressed there is a major problem in Akwa Ibom. We have a very big challenge and setback in the State and that is leadership problem. We live in a State that feeds the entire federation, yet our people are dying of penury, poverty and starvation. This is so because the people we gave power to have suddenly become kleptomaniacs and we cannot continue to fold our alms and watch them ruin our dear state, Udoedeghe stated. Regretting that the Akwa Ibom State government has paid lip service to the untold hunger in the land while paying billions of Naira to National and International Media for image laundry, the Senator maintained his government, post 2015, will do less of talking but brings positive change to lives of the people. While urging politicians to always put the interest of the public over any other consideration, Udoedeghe adviced all to eschew antagonism or stoking primordial sentiments saying, elections would come and go but the people will always be together.
