Sr. Checker The overall scope of the position is to: *Examine engineering drawings and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and sound design to prescribed standards and contractual requirements. *Interpret applicable drawing standard requirements and assesses the quality of the technical backup data. *Investigate errors and recommends solutions. *Correct errors in calculations, dimensions, and design specifications as needed. *Collaborate with drafters and designers. *Exercise authority to reject incorrect documentation in terms of technical content, standards, and specifications. Supports Drafting/Drawing Standards and reference manual revisions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but may not be limited to: *Read, interpret, and prepare engineering drawings and be able to visualize items in three-dimensional space. *Check and perform detailed tolerance studies and dimensional fits and clearances on assemblies along with material requirements and weld notes. *Suggest design changes in the course of checking where simplicity, functionalism, and cost saving in design can be achieved. *Develop design standards and product specifications and coordinate various technical and support departments to assure compliance with standards and performance requirements. *Interpret and apply relevant design policies and procedures. Recommend changes to standards, policies, and procedures as required
