Senior Garment Technologist - Multi Product Location: Central London Salary : up to £50k Posted: 30th January 2014 Our Client a leading and successful Trading company, supplying major High street Retailers is recruiting a Senior Garment Technologist to work in the Textiles Division of their UK office. This is a key stand alone position working within a small team and reporting to the Head of Textiles. This is a diverse role requiring a broad range of skills. Applicants must have multi product knowledge of Mens, Womens and Childrenswear, Outerwear,Dresses and Soft separates. International travel to supplier base will be required. Key Responsibilities To provide technical support to the Textiles Team Work with Designers to create size specifications for new style developments Organize, prepare for and attend fit meetings with customer Buying teams and QA Provide clear and concise written and verbal communication internally and externally, ensuring that the correct documentation is used. Proactively identify and manage all technical issues ensuring relevant merchandiser is informed. Analyze test reports and submit suitable wash care to customer’s for approval. Maintain factory audit database. Ensure all factories have valid audits and manage new factory set-up procedures Skills required A relevant qualification at degree or equivalent level. Retail knowledge is important but an excellent knowledge of the supply chain procedures is essential. Preference given to candidates with previous experience working for a leading Supplier or Trading company Outstanding written and spoken communication and the ability to convey technical detail in a clear and concise manner. A sound manufacturing and pattern knowledge. Pattern cutting skills are desirable.
