Senior General Min Aung Hlaing tours Tokyo, meets Nippon Foundation chairman Nay Pyi Taw, 27 Sept Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Chief of Staff of the Japan Self-Defense Forces General Shigeru Iwasaki, visited Tokyo Skytree, a stand-alone communication tower in Tokyo, on Saturday, sources said. The world’s second highest structure, Tokoy Skytree boasts a height of 634 metres and was opened on 22 May 2012. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing arrived at the Great Buddha of Kamakura at 11am, where he offered flowers, water and joss sticks before signing in the visitors’ book and donating some cash. In the afternoon, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing went to the Umihotaru Man-made Island and the Umi-megane Museum through the Tokyo Bay Aqualine, which is also known as the Tokyo Bay Highway. The Tokyo Bay Aqualine is a 15.1 km marine crossing through the middle of Tokyo Bay connecting Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture with Kisarazu City in Chiba Prefecture. The Aqualine consists of a 9.5-km shield tunnel (the Tokyo Bay Tunnel) and a 4.4-km bridge and was commissioned into service on 18 December 1997. In the late afternoon, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a courtesy call by Mr Yohei Sasakawa, Chairman of the Nippon Foundation, at the New Otani Hotel to discuss rural development and infrastructural development. Mr Yohei Sasakawa hosted a dinner to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at Happo-en Garden, a Japanese traditional restaurant, at 7pm. Myawady
