Senior Network Engineer: Details: Responsibilities Provide LAN/WAN design and implementation support to the Enterprise Architect (deployed technologies are largely Cisco) Assist in network sustainment to include troubleshooting hardware, device configuration, vendor liason, protocols and routing tables. Participate in enterprise change control at the direction of program management. Includes documentation and presentation of proposed changes, updates to configuration documents and diagrams, and the periodic update of legacy network documents. Identify and escalate risks identified in the areas of network security, operations, availability, or capacity. Participate in incident resolution process both as a primary point of escalation and as an upper tier, depending upon problem severity and scope. Follow up with preventative measures as appropriate. Familiar with Wireshark, Riverbed, Opnet ATX, IT Guru and Netscout products Analyze LAN/WAN, information system needs. Evaluate end-user requirements, create custom designs and troubleshooting solutions Analyze network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput) and recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the Customers engineering review boards for adding new technologies to the network Maintain and administer computer networks, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations Design and optimize network topologies and site configurations. Plan installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components and capabilities Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements Implement and generate weekly network status, performance graphs and reports for senior management briefing Review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impacts on network performance and provide recommendations on the most practical technical approach to meet user requirements Provide fault management for the network and support performance management functions Respond, isolate, and resolve network issues. Monitor alarms and alerts to identify network elements causing network degradation or failure Implemented performance test plans and documented process, analyzed data for system changes Evaluate and recommend COTS applications Apply software, hardware, and standards information technology skills in the analysis, specification, development, integration, and acquisition of systems Performed data capture, analyze and provide root cause reports CCNA or CCNP certification preferred dlvr.it/6r41VR
